Or you can enrol in person starting from Monday the 2nd of September, Wednesday the 4th, Monday the 9th and Wednesday the 11th from 5:30-7:00pm. Starting from Monday the 9th, you can enrol from 3:00-4pm from Monday to Friday.

Course Information My four 10 week hatha yoga courses start on Monday the 16th and Wednesday the 18th. Monday courses start at 6pm and 7:45pm and my Wednesday courses starts at 6pm. The College will be closed for the midterm break from October the 28th to November the 1st. Classes resume on Monday the 3rd.

What is Yoga?

Yoga which originated in India is an ancient practice which focuses on helping one to have a better understanding of the self, leading to a state of wellbeing (Human Being). Yoga is the practice of developing clarity of how one perceives life, focusing on the present moment.

I have found that throughout my life yoga is a tool which helps me to reconnect with my inner wisdom (or guidance), whenever I feel disconnected from a state of mindfulness. My work experience in the States, Japan and now in Ireland, enables to me understand the stresses that we all encounter during our daily working lives.

In 2002, I moved with my husband to Japan and practiced regularly. It was in 2005, in Seoul, South Korea that my passion for yoga really deepened as I met the challenge of adjusting to life in a foreign country which was not just foreign in terms of distance, but much more foreign in terms of cultural mindsets. To this day I am very grateful for the opportunity to have practiced yoga at my Korean teacher's (Sun Ha) studio in Seoul, South Korea.

Here I am practicing Bakasana (crow pose) at the Sivananda Ashram in Madurai, South India.

In 2006, Dagmar Buhler, (my friend whom I first met at the same yoga studio), and I went to Vrindavan in the north of India for the intensive one month teacher training at the Sivananda Ashram. This course was structured in the tradition of the Gurukula system, which requires the student to live in an ashram, with daily contact with his or her teacher. My advanced yoga teacher certification was awarded based on a successful practical teaching assessment.

After Sivananda, I taught my first yoga courses on the US military base in the centre of Seoul!

Since 2006, I have taught yoga in Dublin at several yoga & holistic studios, the City of Dublin ETBs, and corporations such as Google, LinkedIn, Heineken.

I also teach meditative art to adult learners to enable them to develop a mindful state of being that they can learn to cultivate at will. Click here for more information.

I have also taught on the Yoga Therapy Foundation course - a course designed to enable yoga practionners explore if they would like to train to be yoga teachers.

In 2009, I returned to India, this time to Madurai in Tamil Nadu province for the advanced teacher training course to further develop my personal practice and deepen my teaching skills.

I am committed to developing my own yoga practice through a regular home practice and participating in yoga training to keep my yoga teaching approach fresh, which I did this January when I did an intensive one month Hatha Yoga Course in Rishikesh (North India). I recently completed a MBSR (mindfulness) course at Sancturay.
